The Big Shop of Horrors Haunted House is a non-profit society that raises money for a variety of charities. The volunteer board members are comprised of local residents and business owners who all have the love of Halloween in their blood!  Over the past haunts, the Big Shop of Horrors has raised and given over $50,000 to local non-profit charities. And now with the generous use of the Cowichan Exhibition facilities their goal is to raise more and more each year.

Mamas for Mamas Costume Event

From now until Oct. 19, you can donate gently-used costumes for kids at any of our three Nanaimo locations.

On Oct. 22, from 1-3 pm, families can join us at VI Regional Library Nanaimo Harbourfront for festive activities and to choose a costume from donations.

Nanoose Bay Halloween Walk

“We are going to change things up this year by offering “NEW” earlier times 3:30-5:30pm are reserved for anyone to enjoy the walk during the daylight. The SCARY walk will be open to walk but NO scary monsters will be popping out from 3:30-5:30pm!”

Westwood Lake Witch Paddle

Join the VIU Students’ Union for the 2022 Westwood Lake Witch Paddle on Saturday, October 29th!
Bring your paddle board or kayak, life jacket, and costume and have a fun paddle on the lake with us. We’ll be launching onto the water from the second beach.
This is a free event although VIU students will be raising money to help tackle food insecurity in our community. Donations received at this event will be provided to Nanaimo Loaves & Fishes Food Bank and Nanaimo Foodshare.

Victoria Zombie Walk
